St Veran les Terres Noires - France (Chardonnay) 2005 - £23.00
From the highly respected cellar of Jean Luc Terrier comes this fine Chardonnay grown on a limestone and sandy red soil. To add depth and structure the wine is aged in both Allier and Voges oak casks.

Dog Point Sauvignon - New Zealand (Sauvignon) 2006 - £24.00
James Healy and Ivan Sutherland left Cloudy Bay in 2003. They already owned Dog Point and have set about making a fine expression of New Zealand Sauvignon. Low yields hand harvesting and natural yeast are the order of the day in the ripe, crisp and vibrant wine.

Isabel Pinot Gris - New Zealand (Pinot Grigio) 2006 - £26.00
Mike Tiller was one of the first growers to recognize the importance of soil and position. He planted his vineyard over 20 years ago on the banks of the Omaka river. Now well established his wines show true varietal character.

Chablis 1er Cru - France (Chardonnay) 2005 - £29.00
Coming from the chardonnay grape, 1er Cru, is a big step from village Chablis, the wine has an extra layer of fruit and depth with a lime and lemon note.

ROSE

Sancerre Rose - France (Pinot Noir) 2006 - £24.50
Nine generations of David Sautereau's family have worked the land before him on this 18 hectare estate. A marriage of age old practices with modern techniques has produced a soft delicate rose with a gentle hue and fruity palate.

RED WINES

Dolcetto d Alba - Italy (Dolcetto) 2006 - £23.00
This early ripening grape variety is almost exclusively grown in the north west Italian region of Piedmont. The wine is soft round and fruity with notes of black cherry fruit.

Herencia Remondo Montesa - Spain (Tempranillo) 2004 - £25.50
Old fashioned this is not. Here in the Rioja Baja, Alvaro Palacios is making new wave wines. This Crianza spends 12 months in young wood, but it is the quality and balance of the fruit that shines through.

Rhone Chateauneuf du Pape - France (Grenache Syrah Mourvèdre) 2005 - £36.00
Sénéchaux is one of the oldest Domaines in Châteauneuf dating back to the 14th century. A mainly Grenache blend with a dash of Syrah and Mourvèdre the wine is approachable with a ripe spice and cherry character.

Frogs Leap - USA (Zinfandel) 2004 - £42.00
Also found in Italy where it is known as Primitivo Zin is one of America's greats. A rich supple wine with plum and fig notes and plenty of structure. Why Frogs Leap? Well it started life on an old frog farm in the hills of northern Napa.

Chateau Batailley - France (Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot) 1999 - £53.00
Once the sight of a battle between the English and French life is more tranquil now. This famous Chateau is owned by Philippe Casteja of negociant Borie Manoux. A fragrant nose of berries with cassis and cedar on the palate and a long round finish.

Gevrey Chambertin - France (Pinot Noir) 2003 - £64.00
Gevrey a small town in the heart of the Cote de Nuits produces fine complex Pinot Noir. The wine is deeper in colour and a little firmer in style than the surrounding villages. It was in 1847 that Gevrey annexed the name of its finest vineyard Chambertin, the Emperor Napoleon's favourite wine.
